It's so shiny, it doesn't look like a wooden spoon unless you take a close look! It's been beautifully carved; if it was carved; and the tiny white humps you see give it such an artistic feature! Simply amazing for a spoon!
Yes, yes I am xD General Santos City in Minadano, to be precise.
Did you enjoy it? Here in the Philippines, we actually spell it as "Cagayan de Oro" but I guess it's different in other countries. On May, which is summer for us, it is quite hot and you'd become sweaty easily if you'd exit the coolness of an air-conditioned room.
Of course! It's a Filipino tradition. Filipinos love interesting things and are curious about the abroad world. Thus the reason why I always tell mom to send us "balikbayan" boxes (or Back to the Country Boxes, translated) since she's currently in America.
Autumn-Leaves..... yes, it was carved... and those little humps are actually flush with the surface. They are made of silver and the reflection makes them look like bumps. Thank you for your kind comment.
I was the one who carved it. Sitting in a cloud of toxic wood dust holding on to a rapidly spinning, razor sharp cutter, trying to only remove the parts that don't belong (wood) while trying not to remove the parts that do belong (fingers). <grin>
